This is a sketch of Noa Matsuda ‘s dance outfit.  I get my inspirations from listen to my clients, turn on the music and let my creativity flow from my mind onto paper.

A design for Noa!

The second  stage is to select fabrics to suit the outfit and the dance routine.

The third stage is the pattern making

The fourth stage is the making

The fifth stage is the fitting

The final Stage: Voila! Dance Performance

It’s 2013, and that means there have been “30 Spectacular Years” of the Schools Spectacular. The event was  held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre  on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November. It was also shown on channel  9.

There were featured Artists joined force by 3,600 students from 400 schools, a 1,300 voice choir, an 80-piece symphony orchestra and 2,000 dancers as well as rock, jazz, brass and marching bands. The 42 featured artists span the spectrum of talent. There are singer-songwriters, rappers, opera and country singers, music theatre lovers, hip-hop and contemporary dancers, and beat boxers.

The features Artists were; Jack Vidgen Winner  of Australia’s Got Talent 2011 , The Voice finalists Diana Rouvas and Darren Percival, 2012 X Factor finalist Angel Tupai, ARIA winners Paulini and Angus and Julia Stone; music theatre stars David Harris, Lucy Maunder, Amanda Harrison, Julie Goodwin, Trevor Ashley and country singers The McClymonts, Felicity Urquhart and Darren Coggan.

The show was spectacular and I am honoured to be involved for several years designing the dance costumes for some of the schools. Th projects are always exciting and fun to work with. I am looking forward to designs again for the Schools Spectacular 2014.

Below are just some of the designs I have done for the events. When I get more photos I will post  them here.

This is so pretty!

I just love designing this!

I love the lace and the layering of the fuchsia and finally the diamantes set it off to tell another story!

I did enjoy embellishing the outfits and work out the patterns for the diamantes.

What can I say  the labour of love and passion always SHINE!

I love Anthurium flower. It has a sophisticate character and elegant look about it. This ballroom gown was inspired by this tropical flower. My client at the time was looking for a ballroom gown that has the sassy and elegant  look in ebony black and highlight with fire red embroidered motifs and hand embellished with lustre red crystals. My client was very pleased with her gown and I was super happy with it too. About Anthurium Flower “Anthurium Fire Red Tropical Flower is an instrumentally characterized flower, with an atmosphere of sassy attitude and blazing individuality. A leaf-like head beholds the fierce red color, exploding into even more intensity with the circulating veins on bloom, allowing a strike of culminating lights and darks to be shaded over the glossy surface. This is the matter that truly makes this flower look so alive. A single lengthy stem bursts out of the center of the head and extends upwards with a pale lower half, and tipped in a light yellow color. A stunning and easily noticed flower, this anthurium stands alone with poise and esteem, while it also fits into bouquets and centerpieces with Burgundy Black Calla Lilies and Burgundy Red Succulent Flowers for nearly any occasion Anthuriums are herbaceous epiphytes native to tropical America. Anthurium is a genus of more than 800 species found in the New World tropics from Mexico to northern Argentina and Uruguay. The Anthurium is also known as Painted Tongue, Flamingo Flower (Flamingo Lily) or Tail Flower. Anthuriums are grown for their brightly colored flower spathes and their ornamental leaves.”   If you like this post please like, share and leave us a comment. Thanks for dropping by. We had lots of fun making these masquerade masks for this coming Queen’s birthday ball on Sunday 9th June at the Fairmount Resort Leura. As you can see the masks are embellished with Sea creatures and diamante. This year’s theme is ” A Water Fantasy”.  So Neptune is the ruler of the sea and his protectors are the warriors.

Here are some of the photos showing the making of the masks. I will share with you the outfits at the later stage.
